EnSight dynamic in-line mixers, such as the model LZ-400-HD shown below, are at the heart of EnSight’s in-line blending systems. These systems are used to accurately and uniformly blend low-viscosity additives at levels as low as 0.01% into fluids with viscosities as high as 100,000 cP. Furthermore, the additive blending is accomplished using a continuous in-line process. The EnSight blending system uses a positive-displacement feed pump to deliver the high-viscosity fluid to an injection manifold, where carefully controlled metering pumps continuously inject the additives at the appropriate volumetric ratios. The EnSight dynamic, high-shear in-line mixer uniformly blends the components by utilizing up to 12 Shear-Action Zones. The finished product is then delivered into the appropriate holding vessel via automated control valves.
A typical EnSight in-line blending system with a EnSight model LZ-400-HD-12 in-line mixer is shown below. This system was configured with two dye injection ports for coloring a high-viscosity fluid.
